You can't just increase the cap - the cap is based on the amount of supplies ordered, the number of people the city will permit, and other logisitcal considerations that drive race directors batty.

We are more concerned with the quality of the race then the quantity of runners. If everything works out okay this year we will consider increasing the cap next year.

I have not been able to train for three weeks because I hurt my back.  Does anyone know a good chiropracter in the Fort Worth area?  If I can't get my back fixed soon I am afraid I am not going to be able to run the race.

Why not just increase the half marathon cap if the 5 person relay or the full marathon cap is not met?

Since the DWRM Half is now closed, a number of running buddies are entering the 5-Person Relay race as a two-person relay team. This is allowed. The nearest relay exchange points are at mile 10 or mile 15, so it could be that one member runs further than the other. We are looking at this issue and may make a change, but no promises.

So I'm so excited to run my 2nd marathon, my first being in Sunriver, OR with less than a couple hundred runners.  I can't wait for my adrenaline to pump with all the enthusiastic runners, bands, people cheering...my 2 sisters are running too, and that will make such great memory!

Good luck everyone. I just want to pass this along. I train with a great running group, The North Texas Roadrunners, in Denton on Sunday mornings. We run 15 miles year round and currently are adding mile to prepare for White Rock. We're running 17 this weekend. We take turns putting out the water for our group. We currently have 10 to 12 runners and welcome more. We meet at 7 a.m. on Sundays in the parking lot next to the Health Services and Wellness Center at the University of North Texas. Have questions or want to come join us, just e-mail me. Good luck.

My wife is looking to join a team in need of another relay member.  Let me know if someone needs another runner!

Academy Sports and Outdoors is going to provide more training shirts, but will be handing them out at their various Metroplex stores. Watch for the Academy ads in the newspaper. They are also hosting a 5k race at one of their stores - more details to follow....

Marcus,
Last year ya'll were handing out the 'Rock Runner in Training' shirts at the DRC Half. Is there a shirt like this, this year?
