Heels and Hills Race Directors - Libby and Paula

HEADS UP! While mistakes can sometimes occur by packet pickup volunteers, we always try our best to make sure you get the shirt style/size you sign up for! Since race shirts had to be ordered months in advance, as styles/sizes are "claimed" by people registering, we will remove choices when a shirt option is no longer available.

My co-workers and I really enjoyed participating in the National Day of Running 5K. It has inspired us to try to get more people interested in participating in events. Our next goal....bringing adult kickball to Irving.

It will practically be October on September 27, and the October averages are high of 79 and low of 58. Have to figure that 79 temp is mid to late day, not mornings, so that's not so bad! Plus the recent humidity just makes it steamy, sticky, and sweaty, so it feels worse too!

Went three miles in todays sunny afternoon -- picturing all of us running this HALF-MARATHON in the Texas heat of September! Maybe I should move my treadmill into the sauna to prepare properly...

Molly Anderson and I also drove out to the Mustangs. I really wanted to run this, after a bad injury last year. Alas. So we did a quarter-Marathon by White Rock, wearing our bibs and seeing other H and H runners along the way. BTW: there's at least one reallymajor washout on the WR trail, near the boathouse at Tee Pee Hill, and the spillway overflow was amazing.

I am so sad that the weather got in our way! I still went out and ran 12 miles this morning when I got home(I did not check my email before I left for the race this morning, so I drove out to the start and got the news there) . Oh well, there is always next year!
