New 20k PR for me by 3 minutes!! Happy about that on a humid morning. 2nd half of the course was hillier than I remembered.
Pokey O's ice cream sandwich and Sonic slush at the end were yummy and I like my new hat.
Wore my shirt at the Keller Run in the Dark 5k tonight and there were a couple of others there that did both events in the same day.

Yikes. I was very excited about this event and had heard great things about the post party. This was my first year. I guess the accolades only apply if you didn't run the 20k. There wasn't so much as a PowerAde left at finish. It looked like everything had shut down with a 2:16 time. I know there were plenty of folks behind me so I assume there was even less for them to enjoy at the post party. The last minute Sonic Run run was appreciated and I'm glad this run is a for a good cause. I probably won't run next year though. Just for fun, I went back to the website to check out the post party notes. Here's a direct quote, "Enjoy a well deserved complimentary post race massage from The Massage Company on the concert lawn. Cool down with a Fat Tire beer while grooving to live music from the Ray Johnston Band! Feed your post race appetite with bites from Holy Ravioli, Genghis Grill, Jamba Juice, Fish City Grill, Einstein's, Pokey’O’s, Kozy Kitchen, Tiff’s Treats, Sonic, and much more!" I'm not sure this paralled the actual event. Kind of a bummer.

Ya, have to agree with you guys.  My running buddy Lorrie and I said we will do the 10K instead of the 20K next year just so we can have a chance to grab some nibbles.

Wow, I thought by crabbing enough about last years TDF, they might get the message.  I hope they at least let everyone cross the halfway timing pads before they took them down.  Maybe they gave out too many TVs and not enough pizza.  I hope the shuttles were still running for everyrone.

Running out of food mid-race with less runners than last year leaves a very bad taste in folks mouths! Sloppy post race event.

Just got this email from TDF:

Hello TDF Runners!  We're all hoping for a sunny Saturday morning!  Due to heavy rain this week, please be advised that parking may be limited at Winfrey Point.  Please plan accordingly and arrive early in case you are redirected to another location.  We strongly encourage carpooling!  Be sure to not park in neighborhoods as your cars will be towed.  There is alternate parking at Lakeside Baptist and the YMCA lot at Gaston/Garland.  There will be buses transferring you to the Arboretum from both of these locations.  Please look at the website for directions or the green sheet in your race packet.

The race will take place rain or shine unless there are heavy thunderstorms.

The homepage of www.tourdesfleurs.com will have a final parking update tomorrow afternoon.  Rain rain go away!

Best of luck at the race!

First 10K for me!  Can't wait.  Taking the day off.  Where is the best place to park?  Or should I have just thrown down the $150 for "vip"?  ;)

Matt, we got a e-mail that told about parking, if there is no rain Friday/Saturday they can allow parking at Winfrey. But with 3500 people you better get there real early if you dont want to be sent to one of the off-sit lots.
