To Loop or Not To Loop

Blog Entry in Linda's Blog (117 Views) (4 Comments)

At the last minute, Roxanne and I decided not to Loop...well at least not as part of the race.  We already ran our pre-race warmup of 3 miles.  We felt warmed and ready and really was not wanting to wait 30+ mins to start.  I figure the longer I wait, the more time I have to talk myself out of running completely.  Plus, I thought it would be more fun to run opposite to the racers and cheer for our friends as we meet somewhere across the Lake.  We pulled Raymond in to join us on our plan:)  Sorry Raymond to drag you into this.  For an unplanned long training run, it was a great run for me...very slow and stiff at first...but it got better.  I had a ton of fun hollering and cheering for our racing friends.  By the way...congrats to our 10-11:00 group out there...you all looked great!!  I'm so proud of you guys.

In spite of the many times I tried to talk myself out of this week's run, I was pleased with my performance.  LOL...I even suggested to Roxanne and Raymond at the halfway point in our run that we should help out at the aid stations.  They believe I have "race anxiety".  I think I do too.  Everytime I thought about shortening my run, Roxanne would force me to continue on.  Thanks Roxanne!  She knows me too well.

It was a great run!  You definitely took off in that last 5K, and it seemed to me you had plenty of energy to run a few more miles.  I, on the other hand, not so much...

Linda

Very good job.  Especially with the negative splits on your second half of the run.  You were definitely cruising today around the lake.
