SummaryThis is an Internet Explorer-related problem and may take a while to solve, but you can get around it by using a different browser.  Inconvenient, sorry!  We're working on it!

A couple of users recently pointed out that they were having problems adding links and images to their blog posts.  For a while I wasn't able to reproduce it, but when I switched to Internet Explorer I saw the problem immediately.

As far as I can tell, the bug is connected to the 3rd party component we use for editing HTML and is exclusive to Internet Explorer.  Basically, the HTML editor fails to load, and you end up with a plain old text box.

I just spend an hour on it and unfortunately it's a very strange bug and may take some time.  It also makes just no sense that it would suddenly appear now, since we haven't changed anything.  Very weird.

I will post updates to this discussion post as we make progress.  In the meantime you should still be able to post HTML content if you use a different browser such as Firefox, Safari, or Chrome.  They're all good browsers (and you might even like them better than Internet Explorer).

Apologies again for the inconvenience!

ps - if any of you are tech folks and have ideas on this, I'm all ears!

I was wondering what had happened, I love Firefox! Thanks for getting back to me Winston!
I think some of our users experienced the same thing when creating blog posts and announcements.  When using IE the formatting looks like trash but when using Firefox they look great.  I used FF so I never noticed an issue but it did seem to be a development that reared it's ugly head when you guys switched the site around last week or two.  Didn't notice the issue before that.
So as I was replying, about to say "Funny, nothing actually changed about the site, we just *moved* it", I had a moment of clarity, and I *think* I may have fixed this, but I'm on a Mac so I can't test it.  If you give it another shot, let me know how it works out.
It's all better now, Winston!  You fixed it!  I use IE, noticed when it went away, but since I know HTML, I just embedded my own tags, and now it's working again!
Sweet!  Case closed!
