About Keith Fulenwider

I was a serious runner after college, through the 80's, then gradually faded to an off-again, on-again runner/jogger for about 15 years.  In August 2007 I started a comeback and have had great success so far.  It has also been a great joy to have my wife and daughter start running seriously and running half marathons.

Got my BQ at Cowtown (a goal since way back there in the 80's), and am planning to run Houston and Boston in 2010.  (Yes, I got in to both before they sold out!)

Thanks!  It was really nice to run a race in COOL weather for a change.  I see you guys had a good day, too - congrats Dana on the prized snow globe!

Thanks for the tip on the knee Dr., Keith.  I've been dealing with an apparent slight medial meniscus tear for the past couple of months, and have been hoping it wasn't too bad.  It doesn't hurt riding, or even climbing stairs, but hurts just walking!  Was able to do three triathlons, and then hobbled around for a few days after each one.

Rode a hard 50 Saturday and felt pretty good (except for the bubble wrap popping each left pedal stroke), and then right before hopping on the bike for another 25 miler Sunday, stepped down a 3 inch step in my garage and heard a pop and hit the deck.  I just knew that was the big tear.

But, it got a little better over the next half hour, so I went ahead and rode.  Felt a little better when I got home, and iced it that evening.  Hurt yesterday morning, and then all of a sudden, no pain at all on the inside of my knee where it had been before.  Now just a dull ache to the left of the patellar tendon.

I don't know if there's a piece floating around in there or not, but I guess I'll find out.  Can't even afford the copay on a arthro surgery right now, so I'm going to procrastinate a little more and see what happens.

I'm keeping your Dr. referral though, just in case.  :)
