Blair Valk

I have been running since jr high. i started at our school track with my dad in the evenings. My goal was to run a mile without stopping. Once i could do that, speed became my goal.

I definitely am not a pleasure runner, i like to know that i am improving my distance or speed. trees and scenery are nice, but i am out there to accomplish something.

I have completed tons of 5k races over the last few years. Last year it was quite the family activity. i think our "group" of family and friends averaged 8 racers per event last year. This season we are going for longer distance races. But i am still hoping i can somehow capture the elusive 24 minute 5k race.

I have done 2 half marathons as well, without training. this year i plan on training for them and see how that changes things. but i am still a big believer in MIND over MATTER.

My lab diesel is the cutest. he is a speedy little guy when we play soccer, but has no endurance. We are gonna make that his goal this year: 5k distance.
