Shelley Brookins

I did my first Half Marathon in 2001 and then headed onto my first White Rock Full in 2003. I met some of my best friends and we created a group call "The Penguin Crew". This was aftera book I read about John "The Penguin" Bigham who was in his 40's, smoked and was over weight and he got up and started running over time. Me, I am doing the same, over time I am improving. I have now completed 3 marathons and many halfs and my goal is to improve my team each marathon. I am learning to jog and not just fast walk.

I had been a member of the DCCCD before, but this time I want to take part in the group and events to meet people who are just as crazy as I am about doing those runs and just being part of the magic of it all!
